League UPDATE :- Merits entries close tommorrow (Thursday 6th November) Any late additions?? Entries by the way are up on last year ... Thanks.
30.10.25 - MEETING UPDATE ...
A reminder that there is a league meeting on Sunday November 2nd 7pm at Lambourne.
All merits entries need to be in (Singles , Doubles and One Frame KO) and Player Registrations .
A few rules/questions will be explained and are as follows
Teams can only play 4 players plus 2 reserves.
A reserve can play in any position in sets 2 and 3
Cup games start at 8pm and are first to 6 only (for stats!!)
Transfers are not allowed under any circumstances
No changes allowed after first round of Doubles and only 2 can register
Players are not allowed to play/practice on an adjacent table when the match is still being played , even if theyve finished or been subbed , (support your team !!!)
As per international rules : If the balls have been set up incorrectly AND the player breaks, the frame continues. (To be fair i'd shout up straight away if i saw it)
Reserves must be on the APP at the start of the match , players can arrive and be used later BUT must be on the App at the start of session ONE. If they are not , they aren't eligible to play.
All draws CAN be done outside a meeting if needed by the Secretary at his convenience (i'd sack him personally !!)
3 points for a win was used as a experiment in last years OSC group matches and therefore rolled over into this seasons main competition. (This is not in the rules anywhere regarding points for a win)

15.10.25 - LEAGUE MATCH 5 ...
Another thrilling week of Premier Division action saw Longton SV extend their unbeaten run to six matches, while Plaza B, Spitfires A, Plaza, and Castaways also recorded dominant victories across the board.
The reigning champions Longton SV continued their incredible form with a convincing 9–3 away win over Warriors. From the first frame, SV showed their trademark control and composure, racing into a commanding early lead before closing out the match in style. Their consistency proved too much for Warriors, who fought hard but couldn’t disrupt the visitors’ rhythm. Longton SV now sit comfortably at the top of the table with six wins from six and a growing frame difference that highlights their dominance.
Plaza B put on a clinical display, dispatching Bank Shot 9–3 to maintain their push for the top three. Plaza B were sharp throughout, winning key tactical frames and showing real team depth. The result keeps them level on points with Spitfires A and firmly in the chase behind Longton SV.
Spitfires A themselves impressed on the road, securing a commanding 9–3 win over Nomads. The visitors looked confident and cohesive, and in fine form. Nomads battled to stay in contention, but Spitfires A’s superior finishing made the difference. The victory reinforces their position as one of the division’s most consistent and balanced sides.
Meanwhile, Plaza’s first team were ruthless in their 10–2 away win against Longton Pool. The visitors dominated from start to finish, with Longton Pool unable to find answers to Plaza’s attacking play and high tempo. With four wins now under their belt, Plaza are gathering momentum at just the right time and could yet mount a serious challenge in the upper half of the table.
Rounding off the evening’s results, Castaways delivered their best performance of the season so far, sweeping past Spitfires B 10–2. The away side were relentless, capitalising on every mistake and maintaining pressure throughout. After a mixed start to the campaign, Castaways have now put together back-to-back big wins, climbing steadily up the standings.

It was an all-round team performance that firmly established them as one of the division’s in-form sides.
Over at Cricketers Arms, the hosts impressed with a commanding 9–3 win over Supersharks. Despite the visitors’ strong start to the season, Cricketers Arms were too sharp on the night, playing with precision and confidence to hand Supersharks only their first major setback of the campaign.
Retro Renegades also shone with an excellent 8–4 victory against The Berwick. The Renegades were steady throughout, taking control early and holding their lead comfortably. Their recent consistency has seen them climb steadily up the table and back into the top-half conversation.
Elsewhere, Pocket Aces edged Manor B 7–5 in a tense contest that went down to the wire. Both sides traded frames throughout, and the 'Aces' continue to move up the table.
At Plaza, the Rejects came through a close battle to defeat Renegades B 7–5. The match was finely balanced for much of the evening, but the home side’s edged the latter frames to be decisive.
