The Stoke Pool League takes pride in
being Staffordshire’s number one
Tuesday night league,
delivering high standards of competition and sportsmanship for nearly
five decades. The league boasts a number of pioneering achievements,
including: The introduction of the
One Frame KO
competition—a format first trialled during the Rileys era. Now
widely imitated, this unique
Double Elimination
tournament involves over 125 single-frame matches, culminating in
the crowning of a true champion. A tech-forward approach with
the introduction of
LeagueAppLive, a mobile app that allows players and fans to
track live scores across
the league, replacing the old pen-and-paper systems. A season-ending
Three-Person Team
Competition, linked to league standings and proudly
sponsored this year by One
Stop Computers. The league also leads the way in
refereeing excellence,
with three committee members
qualifying as official referees and representing England at
international level—a rare accolade in grassroots leagues.
With a rich history,
forward-thinking leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence,
the Stoke Pool League continues to raise the standard of amateur
pool—showing that on Tuesday nights in Staffordshire, there’s only one
place to be. We’re excited to have
One Stop Computers, located on
London Road, Stoke, on board with us this season. A huge thank you also
goes to Plaza Snooker & Pool
and The Lambourne Inn, which
continues to be our trusted venue for league meetings and events. League Sponsors & Thanks This year, we are thrilled to
welcome ten companies/venue

difference in growing our league.A special thank you to

Stoke Pool League est.1978
Formed in
1978, the
Stoke Pool League has
been at the heart of competitive pool in Staffordshire for over
47 years. Originally
based in the Longton and Blurton areas—at a time when public houses were
plentiful—the league quickly built a reputation for delivering
top-class pool every Tuesday
night.
Despite Tuesday being the most competitive night for
pool across the county, the Stoke Pool League has grown into one of
Staffordshire’s strongest and most respected leagues.
Since
1985, the league has
been run by George Bradbury
(Chairman) and Tony
Hazledine (Secretary), whose passion and drive have ensured the
league continues to evolve while maintaining its high standards.
They
were joined over 17 years ago
by Paul Ward, bringing further innovation and forward thinking
to the committee. The latest addition,
Lee Baskerville, now
oversees league competitions, strengthening the league’s organisational
structure.Together, the committee remains committed to keeping the Stoke
Pool League at the forefront of county pool.
Adding
a media-savvy twist to the traditional league setup,
live match streaming
is now available via Plaza’s
dedicated YouTube channel. Match nights are streamed live and
shared via the Facebook group
Stoke Pool League Streams, with an ever-growing library of over
200 recorded matches
available for fans to enjoy.
